William proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 22 years, retiring in 1968 after a distinguished and honorable career. A respected leader and mentor, he served as a Drill Instructor from 1961 to 1963 and as a Marksmanship Instructor in 1961.
He attained the rank of First Sergeant before being promoted to Warrant Officer in 1966. His decorations include the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, and the Navy Achievement Medal with Device.
He was also an active member of VFW Post 10460, American Legion Post 453, Marine Corps League Detachment 862, and the Denton Elks Lodge, and was an honorary member of the Devil Dogs MC.

Instructions:
Staging for the inurnment service will be the DFW National Cemetery Visitors Center. After the mission briefing, honor bikes will move to designated lane. Remaining riders will move to designated shelter, establish the flag line and await the arrival of family and friends. The Patriot Guard will stand “Tall and Silent” during this magnificent Marine’s Inurnment Service. His wife will be laid to rest by his side as they both wanted it. At the conclusion of the service, flags will be returned to the support vehicle, riders debriefed and dismissed.
Flags will be provided.
If you have large bike flags, please bring them.
Water will not be provided, please bring your own.
