Hero Currier served in the United States Army from July, 1969 to July, 1971 and the Army Reserve, until July of 1975. He earned the rank of Specialist 5 (E5) and was an Administrative Specialist. SP5 Currier was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, the Combat Infantry Badge, Overseas Service Bars (2), and the Sharpshooter Qualification Badge M14.
