Lawrence (Larry) Long enlisted in the US Army in June 1966 and served until his separation from active duty in June 1970. During that time Larry was stationed in Germany and also a tour of duty in Vietnam. He attained the rank of Staff Sgt (E-6) as an Eng Equipment Repairman. Larry earned, and was awarded the NDSM, VSM, VCM w/60 Device, 2 O/S bars & the ARCOM. Larry will be buried in the hallowed grounds of Camp Butler National Cemetery with full military honors. He was a long time member of the Franklin American Legion Post 974.
