Specialist (E-4) John George Williams was trained as a Medical Specialist at the Medical Training Center, Fort Sam Houston, TX. Spec 4 Williams served 1 year and 9 months on active duty with one tour of 9 months and 10 days in Vietnam. After that he was transferred to the US Army Reserve with an annual training requirement.

Among the commendations and awards earned by Spec 4 Williams are: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/ Palm, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 1 overseas bar, and Sharpshooter (M-16).
