ABOUT THE MISSION:Francis M. Garmire, 99, US Army Air Corps (WWII)
We have been invited to stand for Francis M Garmire, age 99. Francis served in the Army Air Corps from 26 September 1940 to 4 September 1945 as a utility repairman leaving the United States on 4 June 1942 and landing in Africa. He fought at the Battle for Tunisia. He then moved north thru Sicily and on into Europe before returning to the United States on 9 April 1945. During his honorable service he earned the rank of Private First Class and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, American Defense Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Army Lapel Button. Francis is the father-in-law of Gary Dewayne McClanahan who is sharing this service today. Please join us as we pay our respects and honor his service to our nation.
Gary Dewayne McClanahan, 77, US Navy
We have been invited to stand for Gary Dewayne McClanahan, age 77. Gary served in the US Navy from 15 November 1959 to 27 September 1961 and was honorably discharged at the Rate of Fireman. He served on the USS Lenawee (APA-195). Gary is the son-in-law of Francis M. Garmire who is sharing this service today. Please join us as we pay our respects and honor his service to our nation.
