    Honor Mission

    J. B. Moody, Retired
    USAF - Vietnam
    MULTI-CITY, Arkansas - 17 Mar 2018

While working the fields on the farm with his family, Mother would often yell at him to get back to work and stop looking up in the sky gazing at every air plane that passed over. He would say, “one day, I am going to fly one of those.” Unbeknown to many, this came true. He served his country as a professional flight engineer for over 20 years. Not only did he realize this for himself, but he was instrumental in recruiting and training others to do the same.

Chief Moody entered the United States Air Force in June of 1959 after graduating from Central High School in Parkin, AR. He served 27 years and 6 months and he earned the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Chief Moody did many tours overseas to include Vietnam, Thailand, The Philippians, Germany, Greece, Turkey and Guam. Chief earned many decorations while serving his country. After retiring from the Air Force in Nov of 1986, he continued working as the Chief Flight Engineer instructor and Training Coordinator on Little Rock Air Force Base for 16 years. He is a Distinguished Flying Cross recipient and a life time member of The Eaker Chapter of the Distinguished Flying Cross Society. He was a great professional flight engineer and flight instructor. Chief Moody was instrumental in bringing many into the flying field and worked diligently in helping them succeed.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of this American Hero, a grateful nation mourns your loss. Find peace, strength and comfort in the knowledge that your fallen hero gave unselfishly of themselves in order to keep us all free and safe. Your brave warrior will never be forgotten. Thank you for sharing your loved one with all of us, their sense of duty and honor will live on for generations to come. God Bless you our Hero for a job well done.Stand down and rest in peace.

As I sit in Heaven, and watch you every day,
I try to let you know with signs, I never went away.
I hear you when you're laughing, and watch you while you sleep,
I even place my arms around you, to calm you as you weep.
I see you wish the days away, begging to have me home,
So I try to send you signs, so you know you are not alone.
Don't feel guilty that you have life, that was denied to me,
Heaven is truly beautiful, just you wait and see.
So live your life, laugh again, enjoy yourself, be free,
Then I know with every breath you take, you'll be taking one for me.
