    ABOUT THE MISSION:
    This is a 3-part mission from Gaston, SC to Villa Rica, GA.

    The family of Mr. William Bruce Taylor, 70, has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to escort their father from Gaston, SC to his childhood home in Villa Rica, GA.

    Mr. Taylor passed from this earth on February 2, 2018. He served in the U.S. Army on Active Duty for 3 years, including in Vietnam where he was wounded and received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He served with E Company (Recon), 2/502 PIR, 101st Airborne Division during the Tet Offensive and in the battle of Hue City. He was wounded in battle in July 1968 and spent 1 years in the hospital. He was transferred to the Army Reserve in May 1969 and was honorably discharged in July 1972.

    It will be our honor to ride with him to honor his service to our country.

    After the briefing we will prepare to escort from Gaston to the GA/SC State Line with LEO for part of the route. We will go from Gaston to I-20 and then I-20 West to Exit 1 in North Augusta. Due to the distance and speeds we will not fly big flags for SC portion. Duration of Part 1, approximately 66 miles and 1 hour 6 minutes.

    Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.

    Please arrive at staging and fuel up prior to arrival of Riders from South Carolina (estimated at 1:00 PM) in order to have fuel pumps open for incoming riders continuing onward.

    Upon arrival of the SC escort, we will allow time for those riding the next leg for fuel prior to KSU. Departure NLT 1:30 PM for 90 miles (1 hr., 18 mins.) to second GA staging point.

    Please arrive at staging and fuel up prior to arrival of incoming riders (estimated at 2:40 PM) in order to have fuel pumps open for incoming riders continuing onward. We will have a 20 minute fuel/rest stop and allow new riders in.

    Departure NLT 3:00 PM for 90 miles (1 hr., 24 mins.) to destination point in Villa Rica, GA. Projected arrival time to Villa Rica, GA (depending on Atlanta traffic) is 4:30 P.M.
