    Father in PSALMS 91 we are told, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart”. In John 11:25 Jesus said: "Whoever lives and believes in me shall never die". I also pray you will comfort the family of this warrior as they mourn. Give them the strength to understand your wisdom. AMEN

    I am honored to be able to render Honors & Condolences for the passing of this American Hero, Korean War Era Veteran Carl D. Erickson, United States Army. I offer my condolences to his family and friends.

    SOLDIER

    I was that which others did not want to be.
    I went where others feared to go and did what others failed to do.
    I asked nothing from those who gave
    Nothing and reluctantly accepted the
    Thought of eternal loneliness... should I fail.

    I have seen the face of terror;
    Felt the stinging cold of fear;
    And enjoyed the sweet taste of a moments love.
    I have cried, pained, and hoped... but most of all,
    I have lived times others would say were best forgotten.
    At least I will be able to say that I was proud of what I was...

    As I sit in Heaven, and watch you every day,
    I try to let you know with signs, I never went away.
    I hear you when you're laughing, and watch you while you sleep,
    I even place my arms around you, to calm you as you weep.
    I see you wish the days away, begging to have me home,
    So I try to send you signs, so you know you are not alone.
    Don't feel guilty that you have life, that was denied to me,
    Heaven is truly beautiful, just you wait and see.
    So live your life, laugh again, enjoy yourself, be free,
    Then I know with every breath you take, you'll be taking one for me.

    I am sorry for your loss. There is nothing I can say to make you feel better, but I hope knowing that there are friends who love you helps in some small way.
