A grateful nation thanks you for your service and sacrifices you have made for our country. Were it not for men and women like you we would not have the freedoms that we so dearly cherish. My wife and I wish you a warm ‘Welcome Home’.

I want to take this opportunity to welcome each and every one of you back home to this great country which you have sworn to protect. Your dedication to duty and to your country shows you all to be the heroes that we have come to admire in our armed services. Thank you so much for all that you have sacrificed on our behalf.

Mission Report: Welcome Home: 21 November 2017, VMFA(AW)-224 “Fighting Bengals”, USMC, Beaufort, SC

There were 4 patriots to stand for the returning marines from 6-month deployment in Afghanistan. A flag line was formed at 0930 for the continue arrival of family and loved ones. Once the 737 caring the troops was on the ground we reformed the flag line into a double formation for the 150 Marines to pass through to join their families. After many hand shakes and expressions of appreciation the flag line stood down and returned flags to the flag wagon.

I typically do not name names but would like to extend a special thank you to Harriett, Joe, and Butch who stepped up to cover a mission which I was suppose to be RC for, but was called away to cover another Extreme Short Notice mission in Charleston. Thank You! Simper Gumby!

There were no incidents to report.

    Respectfully Submitted,
    Ray “Fireball” Richards
