ABOUT THE MISSION:
Arizona Run For The Fallen.....
One Mile ~ One Marker ~ One Hero
Arizona Run For The Fallen mission statement is: To run one mile for every service member killed as a result of serving during the War on Terror, including Operation Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and New Dawn.
This event is planned and coordinated by Honor and Remember. The majority of the runners are active duty Military who volunteer their time to run the distance from Freedom Park in Tucson to Wesley Bolin Memorial Park in Phoenix.
Each mile of the Run is dedicated to an Arizona Military Fallen Hero and the Core Run Team will stop at every Hero Marker (every mile) and present an American Flag and a personal biographical card to the waiting family members, friends and comrades. The intent is to create a 146+ mile long memorial trail through Arizona.
The Patriot Guard has been asked to have a flag line in place at the start of the event at Freedom Park in Tucson, Day 1 finish at American Legion in Florence, Day 2 finish at Days Inn in Mesa and Day 3 finish at Wesley Bolin Park in Phoenix. It will be our honor to do this for the fallen and their families.
