    ABOUT THE MISSION:
    The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand for Mr. William Kelly. Mr. Kelly, 90, of Brian Ct. died Monday October 9, 2017 at Van Rensselaer Manor.

    Born in Troy, Mr. Kelly was a Veteran of the US Navy, having served in both World War II and Korea. He received the WW II National Defense Service Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the WW II Victory Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the Occupation Service Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the Korea National Defense US Naval Reserve, the Republic of South Korea, the Presidential Unit Citation, and the United Nations Medal. He was Equipment Operations Supervisor, Equipment Training Supervisor in the 21st Regiment, WW II Navy Seaman, Korea-Seabee CHB2 Cargo Handling Battalion 2 - Equipment Operator. Served on USS Propus - AK-132, USS ABSD-2 Advanced Base Section Dock, USS Selikof AVP-52. Served in Korea, Japan, New Caldonia Island, New Hebrides Island, Eniwetok Island, Gilbert Islands, Marshal Islands, Admiralty Island, Guam, Saipan, Tinian Island, Rota Island, Iwo Jima. and Stateside: RMCB 19 21st Naval Construction Regiment - Seabees - EOC Equipment Operator Chief.

    Mr. Kelly was a bus driver and retired from Star and Strand Co. in Troy. Prior to that he drove for the Brittonkill School District and was a tractor trailer driver for Cumberland Transport, St. Regis Transport of Scotia and the Freihofer Baking Co. in Albany.

    The Patriot Guard Riders are proud to have the opportunity to stand for and render dignity, honor and respect for the life and service of Mr. William Kelly, a WWII "Greatest Generation" hero and Korean War Veteran.

    Water WILL NOT be provided, please bring your own.

    My sincere condolences to the family and friends of this American Hero, a grateful nation mourns your loss. Find peace, strength and comfort in the knowledge that your fallen hero gave unselfishly of themselves in order to keep us all free and safe. Your brave warrior will never be forgotten. Thank you for sharing your loved one with all of us, their sense of duty and honor will live on for generations to come. God Bless you our Hero for a job well done.Stand down and rest in peace.
