Memorial Day Service - Groveland, Florida - 29 May 2017

    Memorial Day Service

    Groveland, Florida - 29 May 2017

    ABOUT THE MISSION:

In 2015, the Patriot Guard Riders attended a Dedication of the Ronald Sefton Gaffney Memorial Highway for the City of Groveland. Once again, they requested us to attend their Memorial Day Service, as they conduct a Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of their new Ronald Sefton Gaffney Memorial Park.

Spec 5 Ronald Sefton Gaffney from Groveland, lost his life in Phu Yen Province, South Vietnam on February 19, 1965, at the age of 21, while performing duties as a Combat Engineer with the U.S. Army Special Forces, Airborne Unit.

During his time in service, Spec 5 Gaffney was awarded a National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Purple Heart.

Please bring your 3 X 5 American Flags and stand in Honor and Respect, not only for the Dedication and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, but for all those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our Country, our freedom and our way of life.

    Please hydrate.

Let us never forget those who were willing to stand face to face with adversity NOT for selfish reasons but for future generations. To them we owe a gratitude that cannot be measured. And I thank those who participate in this event for their honoring the lives and memories of those who would step where few would dare tread. Freedom DID not and DOES not come free... it must be guarded at all times. May the recognition of your bravery and dedication to honor and duty NEVER be forgotten.
I will PROUDLY stand for you and with your family, as you did for me and mine... I did not know you then... but I know your kind and PROUDLY so.

    In honor the service of:
ALL who have honorably served this nation in uniform, as military and/or first responder teams, and their families

Then Jesus said to the disciples, "...and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one; for I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished..."
