    ABOUT THE MISSION:

    THIS IS A ONE PART MISSION BUT PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE MISSION POSTING FOR DETAILS.

    Mr. Rung was drafted into the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an infantryman and fought in Northern France, the Rhineland, and Central Europe. Mr. Rung earned his CIB and was later captured and held as a POW for 9 months.

    After being honorably discharged Mr. Rung relocated to Florence SC and began a career with Union Carbide.

    Mr. Rung was a member of Rolling Thunder 4 as well as a very active member of Central United Methodist Church in Florence.

    Arrangements are being handled by Cain-Calcutt-Stevens Funeral Home.

    Special Instructions:
    Briefing Time: 0900 hrs
    Flag Line: 0915 hrs.

    Rolling Thunder 4 will be escorting Mr. Rung's cremains from the funeral home to the church. PGR assistance will not be required at the funeral home.

    PGR members will assemble at Central United Methodist Church in order to render honors as Rolling Thunder arrives at approximately 0925 hours.

    A flag line will be maintained until Mr. Rung's funeral service begins at 1000 hours.

    PGR members will again render honors as Mr. Rung exits the church.

    There will be a funeral procession consisting of PGR and Rolling Thunder members escorting Mr. Rung to Florence National Cemetery.

    The burial service is scheduled for 1100 hours with military honors rendered by The Veterans Honor Guard.
