ABOUT THE MISSION:
SK3 Gordon Layton faithfully served our grateful nation in the U.S. Navy from June 1958 – June 1962. During SK3 Layton’s naval service, he initially performed duties as a storekeeper aboard the USS Haleakala, a Nitro-Class Ammunition Ship, and then later preformed duties as an Aviation Electrician.
Upon completion of his service, SK3 Layton received an Honorable Discharge and awarded a Good Conduct Medal. Gordon was an active member of American Legion Riders, Post 90, Cape Coral and a member of the First Congregational Community Church.
The family of SK3 Gordon O. Layton has graciously requested the Patriot Guard Riders' presence as they show their final respects to their loved one.
