    It is with the utmost respect that I offer my condolences to the family
    of a true American Hero from our GREATEST GENERATION.

    Juness, may you rest in the knowledge that your duty was well done and
    you have the gratitude of an entire nation for your sacrifice and your
    service. I know that you will now be in the company of your fellow
    veterans who have gone before you and who will welcome you at the Gates
    upon your arrival. Stand down now and know that we will carry on your
    legacy of freedom for all our citizens.

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    MY TRIBUTE TO A HERO

    He was getting old and paunchy
    And his health was failing fast,
    And he sat around the Legion,
    Telling stories of the past.

    Of a war that he once fought in
    And the deeds that he had done,
    In his exploits with his buddies;
    They were heroes, every one.

    And 'tho sometimes to his neighbors
    His tales became a joke,
    But All his buddies listened quietly
    For they knew where of he spoke.

    But we'll hear his tales no longer,
    For ol' Junnes has passed away,
    And the world's a little poorer
    For a Hero died today.

    He won't be mourned by many,
    Just his family and his wife.
    For he lived an ordinary,
    Very quiet sort of life.

    He held a job and raised a family,
    Going quietly on his way;
    And the world won't note his passing,
    'Tho a Hero died today.

    Papers tell of their life stories
    From the time that they were young
    But the passing of a Hero
    Often goes unnoticed and unsung.

    I dedicate this to do him honor
    Even tho he won't hear the praise,
    Then at least let's give him homage
    At the ending of his days.

    Perhaps just a simple headline
    In the paper that might say:
    "OUR COUNTRY IS IN MOURNING,
    A HERO DIED TODAY."

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    To your family and friends I ask that God comfort them as they adjust to their loss.

    Rest In Peace, Brother.
