DESCRIPTION:HOTH Mission\nPolice K-9 Officer Blitz\nSouth Lyon\, Michigan – 07-27-19\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nThe Michigan War Dog Memorial has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to stand a silent flag line to honor K-9 Officer Blitz and his service to the Oakland County Sheriff Department.\nK-9 Blitz was imported from the Netherlands at 8 weeks of age in October of 2009. He started training to be a police K-9 in 2010\, specializing in tracking\, patrol\, and narcotics detection. K-9 Blitz was also certified with the (NAPCH\,) The National Association of Professional Canine Handlers in October 2010 and had been certified every year since.\nK-9 Blitz started his full-time service with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department in May of 2011\, quickly making several apprehensions and handling several high-profile cases\, including saving a life in January 2016 in sub-zero degree weather regarding a lost woman.
