SUMMARY:Enrique Miramontez Memorial Park
DESCRIPTION:HOTH Mission\nEnrique Miramontez Memorial Park\nAnthony\, Texas – 06-15-19\n\n\n \n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nThe family of Cpl. Enrique Miramontez has asked the mayor of Anthony\, Texas\, the Patriot Guard Riders and the 19th Rifle Company\, USMCR to participate in a community awareness project in observance of the 50th anniversary of his sacrifice. The Enrique Miramontez Memorial Park was dedicated in his honor on November 11\, 2000. The project is designed to educate the populace of Anthony\, Texas in who Cpl Miramontez was and the sacrifices he endured resulting in the dedication of the park. He was a of member the United States Marine Corp that was deployed to South Vietnam\, Quang Tri province with the 3rd Marine Division\, 1st Battalion\, 9th Marines\, C Company on August 14\, 1968 as a rifleman. He was Killed In Action (KIA) due to a hostile explosive device on June 18\, 1969. Cpl Miramontez is also honored on the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Wall in Washington DC with his name inscribed on Panel 22w\, Line 80. Cpl Miramontez was awarded the Purple Heart\, Combat Action Ribbon\, National Defense Service Medal\, Vietnam Campaign Medal\, Vietnam Service Medal\, Distinguished Unit Citation\, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation\, Good Conduct Medal and the Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal for his service. The ceremony will begin at 12:00 PM. Green State Veterans Home in Bay Minette\, AL. This is a “special celebration” mission for the veteran fathers of WF Green. Many of the veterans who are residents do not have family or their families do not visit them on Father’s Day. So this special event will show our respect and love for our “veteran fathers”. We\, the PGR will show these men that they have not been forgotten and at least for one day\, we will “adopt’ them as our fathers. The event will take place in the courtyard of the facility and meal service will be in the main dining hall of the home. Some veterans may also gather where we will be cooking. Meal service will begin at 11:00am. Take a right and come in the SECOND entrance to the Veterans Village. Coming from the south on 61 look for the Martins Restaurant and take a left on Martin Drive.
