DESCRIPTION:Dedication\nPFC James Roy Newberry MIA Intersection Dedication\, POW/MIA\nUSA -\, Korea\nMacon\, Georgia – 06-14-19\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nThe Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to join several other veteran support groups to take part in honoring PFC James Roy Newberry an American Hero (Uncle one of our own PGR members) at the Bethel Baptist Church\, where he and his family worshiped when he was a child.\n\nBorn June 15\, 1931\, James “Roy” Newberry\, as a young man enlisted in the US Army and went to fight for our country during the Korean War. He served as part of the Company F\, 2nd Battalion\, 223rd Infantry Regiment\, 40th Infantry Division. Engaging the enemy\, Roy was shot and wounded. His unit pulled back and his body was not recovered. Date of loss: December 8\, 1952.Through the unending efforts of friends and family\, and recognition of the POW/MIA Mission by the Macon-Bibb County Commissioners Office\, we will come together to dedicate with honor\, the POW/MIA Interchange\, and the Rising is the POW/MIA Flag. He is NOT Forgotten!\n\nWe (4 groups) will stage off-site and arrive by LEO escort\, where-in we will park upon arrival each at a different corner of the intersection.
