He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After service in Vietnam\, Dennis worked with Lear-Sigler. During these years\, he and his family traveled across the world as he worked as an aircraft mechanic. Dennis also enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard serving for thirty-seven years prior to his retirement as a Master Sergeant in 2005. Dennis was proud of his service to our country and had great respect for our flag. He was a member of the American Legion\, Roscoe Enloe Post 5 and the Navy Club. He received the Army Commendation Medal\, Meritorious Service Medal\, Conspicuous Service Medal\, as well as numerous letters of appreciation and recognition. Dennis will be remembered for his generous heart and big smile. He truly enjoyed helping people and never met a stranger\, he loved everyone. Jake’s wife told us that he considered the PGR his family and as such the family wants – and knows Jake would want – the PGR involved in his service as much as possible. His wife has asked the PGR to be present at his viewing that will be held on Wednesday 18 Sept from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. at the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel. On Thursday 19 Sept after the service she asked if the Patriot Guard Riders would provide Pallbearers as Jake is moved from the Funeral Home to the PGR Coach and provide an accompaniment to Fort Sill National Cemetery. Once we arrive at Fort Sill National Cemetery the military honors detail will take over as pallbearers. Jake was rightfully proud of his long and distinguished career in the US Army where he reached the rank of SFC and earned many medals and ribbons. DESCRIPTION:Honor Mission\nRonald Wayne Hailey\, Veteran\nUSA – Vietnam\nTriangle\, Virginia – 09-19-19\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nThe Patriot Guard will honor Pvt Ronald Wayne Hailey\, 60\, of Silver Spring\, MD.\, by standing a flag-line in his Honor\, on 19 September 2019\, during a Memorial Service to his life.  He enlisted in the US Army\, during the Vietnam War\, and served his country as a Cryptologist.  After receiving an Honorable Discharge\, He settled in the Washington\, DC area where he met and married the love of his life\, Barbara.  He proudly carried on the family tradition of serving in the US Army\, as did his Grandfather\, during World War I\, and his Father\, during World War II\, The Pacific Theater.  Ronald W. Hailey died on May 28\, 2000\, at the Prince Georges Hospital Center in Cheverly\,MD\, after suffering a heart attack.  He will be laid to rest in the columbarium\, next to his loving Wife\, Barbara M. There will be 5 WWII\, 12 Korean and 8 Vietnam Vets on this Honor Flight. These veterans will NOT be coming out thru Security like normal. They are catching a connecting flight and we will escort them from plane to plane and spend the three hours of their layover\, visiting with them. This is a unique opportunity for 8 of us to spend time talking with these veterans and hearing their stories. It will be a privilege to support this honorable event. The RIDE HOME Inc. is a Non Profit Corporation paying tribute to former American Prisoners of War and the families of those Americans still Missing in Action.This annual event takes place in and around the cities of Warner Robins\, Perry\, and Andersonville\, Georgia\, home of the National Prisoners of War Museum.\n\n\nWith the support of many this group provides dinner and lunch\, as well as lodging for over 200 Honored Guests. This annual event is open to the public and we strongly encourage you to join us as we show our gratitude for the sacrifices these former POWs and MIA families have made for Our Great Country. For more information about the event visit www.theridehome.com As part of “The Ride Home” events the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall will be set-up and displayed at the Museum of Aviation and PGR will assist is escorting the wall and assembly at location. The Wall is a 3/5 scale of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC\, it stands six feet tall at the center and covers almost 300 feet from end to end.This Traveling Memorial stands as a reminder of the great sacrifices made during the Vietnam War. It was made for the purpose of helping heal and rekindle friendships and to allow people the opportunity to visit loved ones in their home town who otherwise may not be able to make the trip to Washington.\n\n\nThere are 4 individual LEO led group escorts over the 3 days of this event. Patriot Guard Riders will stage for safety and information briefing at each and then join together with other participating groups. Victor enlisted in the Army in 1944 at the age of 17. He landed on the beaches of Normandy\, France on D Day and fought until Europe was liberated. MSgt Graham was highly decorated with two purple hearts and a silver star among his awards. In June of this year\, Mr. Graham returned to Normandy as the guest of the Hillgrove High School band who was performing for D Day memorial services at National Cemeteries there.
