Greg entered in the Army in 1980 and earned the rank of Corporal. Greg was a new PGR Brother and this Final Ride will be his third mission. Greg was a local businessman owning Verdugo Masonry\, he was a devoted family man. Greg died after 34 days in a coma sustained in a vehicle crash with a uninsured motorist. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and owner having two Harley’s . DESCRIPTION:Honor Mission\nDelmar Ray Grissom\, POW/MIA\, KIA\nUSA – Korea\nCamas\, Washington – 09-07-19\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nThe Patriot Guard Riders will stand during the Recognition and Honor Service for United States Army Corporal\, Delmar Ray Grissom.\n\nOn 27 November 1950 CPL Grissom was assigned to K Company\, 3rd Battalion\, 35th Infantry Regiment\, 25th Infantry Division. During the battle of the Chongchon River in North Korea\, the 35th Regiment was in vigorous battle with the Chinese 39th Army. CPL Grissom was captured during the course of this moving battle on 28 November 1950. In all\, 73 men from the 35th Infantry were killed or became missing during this battle.\nThe American POWs went to holding camps and then marched on to Camp 5 on the south bank of the Yalu River North Korea. CPL Grissom however\, with a small group of his fellow POWs \, were marched farther west into China where they were interrogated for several days. Then they were taken back into North Korea and marched to Camp 5. CPL Grissom was exhausted\, and reportedly died of pneumonia in April 1951. CPL Grissom was buried at the edge of the camp by his companions.\n\nContinuing efforts to resolve Korean War loss cases by the Defense Prisoner of War Accounting Agency (DPAA) have Unfortunately\, not been able to locate the remains of US Army Corporal Delmar Ray Grissom. Armbrust\, US Army 175th Infantry Regiment attached to the 29th Infantry Division\, was wounded June 1944\, and for his wounds received the Purple Heart. SSgt Armbrust passed away in 1999 but the Purple Heart that he gave his blood to earn\, was lost and ended up in a pawn shop in Newark\, Ohio. DESCRIPTION:Honor Mission\nSMJ James “Ryan” Sartor\, KIA\nUSA – WoT\nTeague\, Texas – 09-07-19\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nSergeant Major James Gregory “Ryan” Sartor\, 40\, was killed in action in the Service of his country on July 13\, 2019 in Faryab Province\, Afghanistan. Ryan answered the call to serve and joined the Army in June 2001\, becoming an infantryman in the 3rd Infantry Division where he quickly deployed to help lead the invasion of Iraq in 2002. He continued to advance and after being selected for the Special Forces Qualification Course he earned his Green Beret and was assigned to Fort Carson\, Colorado where he served for the next 14 years. He deployed numerous times to include additional combat operations in Iraq in 2006\, 2007\, 2009 and 2010 – 2011\, Germany and Israel in 2008\, Africa in 2012 and 2013 and Afghanistan in 2017 and 2019. Over 350 large American flags\, measuring 3 feet by 5 feet and mounted on 8-foot poles\, will be displayed in perfect rows and columns on the grassy field at the north end of the Mullet Festival grounds in Niceville\, Florida.
