Alex P. Aguilar was born on February 1\, 1947 in Kennedy\, Texas. At the age of 18 he joined the Marine Corps. During the Vietnam War\, he was wounded three times and was awarded three purple hearts\, attaining the rank of Corporal. On February 2\, 1979 he married in Clayton\, New Mexico. He decided to join the New Mexico National Guard and later became active duty Army where he retired as an E-7. Alex was a lifetime member of the Military Order Of The Purple Heart\, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and also a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3271 in Clayton where he was commander for several years.
