SUMMARY:Calvin Preson Pitchford
DESCRIPTION:Honor Mission\nCalvin Preson Pitchford\, Retired\, PGR\nUSAF –\nElizabeth City\, North Carolina – 08-18-19\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nWith a saddened and heavy heart I inform my fellow Patriots we must now stand for one of our own. The Rev. Preston Pitchford passed tragically and his family has requested our presence at his Celebration of Life. Achieving the rank of Master Sergeant in the USAF and a former Royal Ranger Commander\, Preston went on to complete his studies at the USAF College. He was a leader among men. He was the pastor of his own church and committed his life to helping his fellow man. He was the lead of the M25 Christian MC in the area and was instrumental in bringing all the MC groups in the Elizabeth City and surrounding areas together to support each other. He would never hesitate to stop what he was doing to come to aid to a fellow biker\, church member or friend in need\, sometimes cutting his vacation short to rush home to be by their side. Preston felt so compelled by the PGR Mission that he would always make an appearance\, allowing time in his busy schedule to stand for a fellow veteran. So much could be said about the man he was. Now we will stand and honor his work here on Earth.\n\n\nPRIMARY STAGING DETAILS: 08-18-19 \nStaging Time: 1:30 PM\n \nFountain of Life Church\n1107 US 17\nElizabeth City\, North Carolina 27909\n\n\nRide Captain: \nRoy “highwinder” Hankinson\n757-553-2470\n\n\nSpecial Instructions: \nFlag Line: 2:15 for the arrival of friends and family.\nThe family will be escorted to the church by those on Iron Horses.\nWe will maintain the Flag Line during his Celebration of Life. Charles Manley\, US Army retired\, to stand a flag line and welcome guests to Sgt. Manley’s memorial service. Our hero lied about his age and joined the Army at 16 and was sent to France to drive a truck. After about a year he was asked his age and slipped up and said 17 and then said well you caught me\, I guess you’ll be sending me home. He was told no son; Uncle Sam has too much invested in you now. When Charles re-upped he applied for and was accepted to Special Forces where\, after training he was sent to Vietnam. Unfortunately that was about all his widow could tell me about his Army career. Charles had a passion for aeronautics and his memorial will be at the Flight Museum\, of which he was a 20 year member.
