SUMMARY:Pvt. Edward "Buster" Morrison
DESCRIPTION:Honor Mission\nPvt. Edward “Buster” Morrison\, KIA\nUSA – Korea\nSuperior\, Wisconsin – 08-14-19\n\n\n \n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nEdward Marshall “Buster” Morrison\, age 19\, of Ashland\, passed away on July 8\, 1950\, in the Korean War. He was born October 22\, 1930\, in Ashland\, the son of Edward and Hattie (Roy) Morrison. In 1949\, he graduated from DePadua High School\, in Ashland. Edward immediately entered the United States Army and was a member of Company B\, 1st Battalion\, 34th Infantry Regiment\, 24th Infantry Division. On July 8\, 1950\, he was killed by enemy small arms fire while taking cover in a foxhole at the platoon’s command post on Hill 135\, located north of the village of Naech’on-ni\, near Chonan\, South Korea. Platoon members removed his body from the foxhole and placed it temporarily on the hillside\, but the active enemy presence forced a withdrawal from the area and his remains could not be recovered at the time. He was recovered in 1954 and was recently identified so we may bring him home.  Patriot Guard riders will meet the plane in Minneapolis and attend the Distinguished Transfer at approximately 1:00 p.m. They will escort Pvt. Morrison and family to the first Staging Point in Wisconsin.
