Following his service he attended Michigan State University and became an Electrical Engineer for Boeing where he retired. Bruce was an active member of American Legion Post 19 in Renton and also was an avid Harley rider and a member of the Legion Riders. Bruce is survived by his brother and his nephew. And his brother also served in the US Army. Unfortunately they live in Alabama and will not be able to make it to the service. Legion Post 19 and the PGR will be his family. Hero James enlisted in the United States Navy in January 1952 at age 17 and proudly and honorably served our country in active duty as a Fireman – Engine Mechanic Apprentice until September 1955. He was then transferred to Naval Reserve status and served through January 1960. His service included 3and 1/2 years in the Korean Conflict during which he earned the Good Conduct Medal\, Korean Service Medal\, United Nations Service Medal\, and the National Defense Service Medal. After the Navy\, he went to night school in KC\, worked full time as a supervisor in manufacturing plants\, and served some as a reserve police officer in Lees Summit.
