He was an Electricians Mate and when the Navy was transitioning to Gas Turbines he was on the ground floor as a Gas Turbine Systems Technician. Bob served aboard the USS Pigeon\, ASR-21\, and was aboard the USS Moosbruger\, DD980\, during the invasion of Grenada and had many shore assignments as well during his tenure.\nFollowing retirement Bob and his wife kept very busy with many projects including volunteering at many RV parks.\nOne of Bob’s passions was doing volunteer work for many veteran organizations including the Wreaths Across America Project.\nWhile not a rider himself he felt that the Patriot Guard Riders was a great organization and had close contact with many of our fellow PGR members\, including signing the Patriot Guard Riders flag that is in the Wreaths Across America Museum.\nHis widow is extremely happy to have us help honor his memory and service to our country. SSG Clark retired from the US Army after many years of service. He served in several different campaigns in Vietnam\, including the 1969 TET Counter offensive. He was 80 years old when he passed from this earth.SFC Lopes honorably served over 20 years in the United States Army and retired on 31 May 1979. His many military decorations include the National Defense Service Medal\, Parachutist Badge\, Combat Infantry Badge\, Army Commendation Medal 2/OLC\, Meritorious Service Medal\, Bronze Star Medal 3/OLC\, Vietnam Service Medal\, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device\, Staff Service Medal First Class\, Good Conduct Medal\, and Overseas Service Bar (6). Vincent was 92 years old. Vincent enlisted in February of 1944 and served until Honorably Discharged in June of 1946. Vincent served in Jacksonville\, FL during the war and worked on all the training aircraft during WWII. Following his service Vincent became a Aeronautical Engineer and worked for Boeing Aircraft and at one time was the manager of the Boeing Red Barn. His is survived by his one daughter and son in law and grandson\, who all work or have retired from Boeing as well.He will be laid to rest next to his first wife of 54 years.
