Mr. Knowlton served in Vietnam and since he was injured\, he was honorably discharged as a Captain. He wanted to make the Army a career but after his second injury the FAA grounded him. Since he couldn’t fly\, he was then honorably discharged. He was asked later to come back as a flight instructor\, but declined. Dale enlisted July 23rd 1964 into the United States Army\, where he was an 11 Bravo for Charlie Company\, 1st and 2nd Infantry Division.
