James proudly served in the U.S. Army Cavalry as a Recon Driver of scout cars behind enemy lines during night missions to assess and report enemy troop strength and movements in both the Pacific and European/North African Theaters from 15 Jun 42 – 14 Oct 45. His last year of duty was as a Mortar Gunner. Awards include the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal (x3)\, American Campaign Medal\, WWII Victory Medal\, and Expert Badge w/Carbine. After the service he was in Quality Control for Weyerhaeuser for 30 years. He was preceded by his wife of 42 years. He is survived by 2 sons\, 1 daughter\, 1 step-daughter\, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
