Enrique Miramontez has asked the mayor of Anthony\, Texas\, the Patriot Guard Riders and the 19th Rifle Company\, USMCR to participate in a community awareness project in observance of the 50th anniversary of his sacrifice. The Enrique Miramontez Memorial Park was dedicated in his honor on November 11\, 2000. The project is designed to educate the populace of Anthony\, Texas in who Cpl Miramontez was and the sacrifices he endured resulting in the dedication of the park. He was a of member the United States Marine Corp that was deployed to South Vietnam\, Quang Tri province with the 3rd Marine Division\, 1st Battalion\, 9th Marines\, C Company on August 14\, 1968 as a rifleman. He was Killed In Action (KIA) due to a hostile explosive device on June 18\, 1969. Cpl Miramontez is also honored on the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Wall in Washington DC with his name inscribed on Panel 22w\, Line 80. Cpl Miramontez was awarded the Purple Heart\, Combat Action Ribbon\, National Defense Service Medal\, Vietnam Campaign Medal\, Vietnam Service Medal\, Distinguished Unit Citation\, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation\, Good Conduct Medal and the Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal for his service. The ceremony will begin at 12:00 PM. He was an avid motorcycle rider and will be interred with a photo of him taken on his Harley Davidson taken on his last ride. DESCRIPTION:Honor Mission\nMike Fuemmeler\, Retired\, Veteran\nUSA\nGlasgow\, Missouri – 06-15-19\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nGlasgow resident\, Mike Fuemmeler\, 45\, passed away suddenly June 8\, 2019 as the result of a motorcycle accident outside Armstrong\, MO.  Micheal John “Mike” Fuemmeler.  Mike started his honorable and successful career in the military by enlisting in the United States Air Force.  Mike reenlisted with the U.S. Army\, completed Airborne training\, pursued and accomplished his dream of becoming an Army Ranger.  Staff Sergeant Fuemmeler’s primary job was serving as a healthcare specialist.  He earned the rank of Senior Medic\, overseeing numerous trauma centers and healthcare stations in Iraq and Afghanistan\, valiantly doing his duty for the global war on terrorism.  In one instance\, Mike’s platoon experienced heavy casualties.  He was hand selected to take charge of a trauma section that was experiencing low morale and performance.
