Mason\, 84\, USMC (Retired) of Fairfax\, VA\, died on 9 August 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He enlisted in the USMCR in 1952 and was commissioned a 2nd Lt in 1955. He served in numerous assignments including the J-3 Staff of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Among his many awards and commendations are the Defense Superior Service Medal\, Defense Meritorious Service Medal\, Navy Commendation Medal w/Combat V\, Vietnam Service Medal w/5 bronze stars\, Korean Defense Service Medal and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He was a marathon runner who ran several Boston Marathons and he was very active in his community. He is survived by a large and loving family and is missed by all. Col Robert B. Mason is to be interred on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery on 13 June 2019 at approximately 1500 hours from the Administration Building. He passed away suddenly on Saturday June 8\, 2019. He further served the citizens of this great country when he deployed to New York on 9/11 and Louisiana for Hurricane Katrina. Firefighter Paramedic Moore received many Medals of Valor for actions taken during emergency incidents. He is survived by his children\, parents\, sister and an unending list of Brothers and Sisters in Blue. DESCRIPTION:Honor Mission\nCharles Shayne \, Veteran\nUSMC – \, Vietnam\nWickenburg\, Arizona – 06-29-19\n\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nCharles Shayne (“Chaz”) recently passed away at the age of 69 due to complications from exposure to Agent Orange. Chaz enlisted in the US Marine Corps in July 1967\, and honorably served until June 1971\, during which time he served in Vietnam. Among other awards\, Chaz received the Vietnam Service Medal\, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device\, Combat Action Ribbon\, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm and Frame\, Navy Unit Citation\, and a Purple Heart. After his discharge\, Chaz continued to serve veterans in his community – he was a past member (and Road Captain) of American Legion Riders Post 79 in Yarnell\, formerly Post Adjutant for Post 79\, and at the time of his death was a member of American Legion Post 12 and American Legion Riders Chapters 12 in Wickenburg\, where Chaz had served as Commander of the Post 12 and was also past President and Secretary of ALR 12.\n\n\nPRIMARY STAGING DETAILS: 06-29-19 \nStaging Time: 1:00 pm\n \nAmerican Legion Post\n12176 N.
