He lived to the age of 94. The Hero was drafted into the US Army Air Corps during World War II and flew combat missions over Germany and Italy. After the war\, he continued his service in the US Navy Reserves for a time then joined the US Air Force in time to serve combat tours in both Korea and Vietnam. His son was in Vietnam at the same time as his Dad. He retired in 1976 with 33 years service. He was an active member of VFW Post 5877 in Aiken and was a celebrant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
