DESCRIPTION:HOTH Mission\nGlendale Veteran’s Memorial Park Memorial Day Ceremony\nGlendale\, Arizona – 05-27-19\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nThe Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in a Memorial Day observation at the Glendale Veterans Memorial Park. We will stand a flag line for the arrival of guests and for the start of the program. Many of the volunteers for this event are from the nearby Homestead Hospice. There will be several veterans in attendance that we will have the opportunity to personally thank for their service. The memorial site is located right off of the side of Glendale’s Main Public Library. It is a beautiful park and memorial. The award-winning Xeriscape Botanical Garden located here began its initial construction in June of 1990. Since that time\, the garden has grown to nearly four acres in size with more than 400 species of plants. The first one will be held at Palm Valley\, and the second will be at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Palm Valley’s service will be your typical Memorial Day service. At the church\, they will have the Florida Fallen Soldiers Cross Memorial. If you have not seen this before\, there is a cross staked for each fallen Hero from Florida that was killed in action with there name on the cross and when they were killed\, plus most of them have a picture of our Hero on them.\nWe will depart Palm Valley when this service is over and head to the church\, which is about a 7-mile trip. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 am at the ceremony field at GVMC. The guest speaker will be Georgia Representative Rick Williams\, with the Robins Air Force Base Honor Guard presenting our National Colors. The members of John Milledge Son of American Revolution will provide a musket 21 gun salute in honor of Georgia’s military lost over the last year. Our very own Briana Wilson will be the guest performer providing beautiful patriotic music. The PGR has proudly participated in this event since its inception. This year\, it will be held in Cavezza Hall where we will set up a flag line before and during the ceremony (flag line mission only). After the ceremony\, you and your family may want to go through the updated museum\, its a world class facility and has an excellent gift shop and restaurant.
