DESCRIPTION:Escort of the Vietnam Moving Wall\nNew Orleans\, LA\, 08-24-2016\n\n\nIn celebration of the 100th year of the Marine Corp Reserve\, and the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War\, the Traveling Vietnam Wall is coming to New Orleans’s City Park. There will be an escort of all Veterans and any other motorcycle groups to New Orleans City Park\, led by the New Orleans Police. Kick stands up at 3:00 PM. Rider’s meeting 2:30 pm. You must attend this meeting to participate in the ride. The Marine Corps will set up the wall but volunteers are welcome. The wall will be set up to be displayed from Thursday\, Aug 25th at 2 pm\, until Sunday\, Aug 28th at 6 am. DESCRIPTION:The family of Bertram Gardes has requested the Patriot Guard to pay Honors to this American Hero. It will be our honor to do so. \nBertram was born in 1925 and was part of that generation that was born and raised to work hard all their lives. He worked hard and played hard at everything. \nBertram served in the United States Coast Guard aboard the USS General Hugh L. Scott (AP-136) a Squire class transport ship for the US Navy in WWII. The ship was crewed by the Coast Guard until she was decommissioned. She was named in honor of US Army General Hugh Lenox Scott. \nBertram was a Watertender Second Class.\n\nUpon completion of his enlistment Bertram went to work for Jorgansen Steel as a heat treater. He retired from there in 1981. \nBertram loved to read and travel. DESCRIPTION:Jerry  McCammon was born on 17 June 1955\, one of four children in El Paso\,  Texas. \nAt the age of 30 Jerry enlisted into the United States Army and  served active duty in Troop D 4th Cav from 1986 to 1989\, then completing  his career in the Reserve from 1989 to 1994.   \nSPC  McCammon reentered the civilian career he had before serving as a barber. There he served as a radio technician and communications chief during the Korean War as part of the 140th Heavy Tank Batallion\, 40th Infantry Division.  During his service\, he attained the rank of Corporal.  He spent his career with General Electric as an analytical chemist. \nVernon was also a proud 60 plus year member of the North Queensbury Volunteer Fire Dept serving in many positions including President\, and also volunteered with the rescue squad as well. \nThe Patriot Guard Riders will be privileged to render Honor Dignity and Respect for the life and service of Vernon C. Burkhart.

DESCRIPTION:[FONT=&amp]Through the support of our friends at Risher Mortuary\, the family of Navy Reserve Veteran Arthur Richard “Dick” Brown has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their hero for his service and sacrifice to his country. It will be our privilege to do so.\n[/FONT]\n[FONT=&amp]Dick Brown was commissioned to grade of Ensign USNR and accepted appointment in November 1958. He completed his active duty requirement effective July 1961\, and completed his reserve obligation in November 1966. He served aboard the USS Rochester\, a heavy destroyer in the Pacific. He was honorably discharged after completing his obligations and earned the rank of LtJG.\n\n[/FONT][FONT=&amp]Mr. Brown was a Registered Geologist and Certified Engineering Geologist with the State of California for almost 50 years. He worked overseas in Greece and the Philippines.\n[/FONT]\n[FONT=&amp]Dick loved the military and was passionate in his support of veterans and the Long Beach Veterans Medical Center. \n[FONT=&amp]Dick Brown is survived by wife Margaret “Genny”\, two brothers\, two daughters\, a son\, and three grandchildren.\n\n[FONT=&amp]NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran.
