He was stationed during Vietnam on the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea as an aircraft mechanic\, and he also assisted in the evacuation of Saigon at the end of the war. \nLarry was a Harley rider all of his adult life and he loved to ride with his brothers of the club he co-founded\, the Ugly Brothers MC.  His wife also rides and will be riding his Harley the day of his funeral in his honor. DESCRIPTION:The family of HM2 Mark Vargas has invited the Patriot Guard to honor their  Hero for his service and sacrifice to his country. It will be our privilege to  do so. \nMark proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman during tours in  Iraq and Afghanistan. He enlisted in 2006 and served in combat attached to  Marine squadrons.  His goal when entering the U.S. Navy was to serve as a  Corpsman and save lives. He was honorably discharged at the rank of HM2. \nHe began this inspiration of wanting to save lives at an early age\, when 16  yrs old\, he and a coworker were delivering newspapers in his hometown of  Ridgecrest when they saw a child was injured in an accident\, they quickly  transported the 3 yr old to the hospital where his life was saved. \nMark grew up in Ridgecrest from the age of 1 yrs old\, and passed away on  August 5\, 2016 just a few days short of his 31st birthday which would have been  August 14. \nHM2 Vargas is survived by his parents\, extended family and numerous  friends. \nThe weather is predicted to be extremely hot\, so stay  hydrated. \nTime Table for Monday 15 Aug 2016: \n0715: Stage @ Holland & Lyons Mortuary\, 216 S. He was the recipient of the Bronze  Star. Gilbert also received the Good Conduct Medal  and the Victory Medal. \n He is survived by his wife Mary Vargas\, three daughters\, several grandchildren\,  great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. \n\n The following historical brief will show us why they call Gilbert and his brothers-in-arms\, the HEROS that they were.\n\n … The 76th Infantry Division was activate in June 1942 and arrived in  England\, 20 December 1944\, where it received additional training.\n… It landed at Le Havre\, France\, 12 January 1945\, and proceeded to the Limesy concentration area.\n… The Division moved to Beine east of Reims and then to Champlon\, Belgium\, 23 January\, to prepare for combat.\n… Relieving the 87th Division in defensive positions along the Sauer  and Moselle Rivers in the vicinity of Echternach\, Luxembourg\, 25  January\, the 76th sent out patrols and crossed the Sauer\, 7 February\,  and breached the Siegfried Line in a heavy assault.\n… The advance continued across the Prum and Nims Rivers\, 25-27 February.\n… Katzenkopf fortress and Irrel fell on the 28th and the attack pushed on toward Trier\, reaching the Moselle\, 3 March.\n… Driving across the Kyll River\, the Division took Hosten\, 3 March\,  Speicher on the 5th and Karl on the 10th; swung south and cleared the  area north of the Moselle\, crossing the river\, 18 March\, near Mulheim.\n… Moving to the Rhine\, the 76th took over defenses from Boppard to St. Goar and crossed the Rhine at Boppard\, 27 March.\n… It drove east and took Kamberg in a house-to-house struggle\, 29 March.\n… A new attack was launched 4 April and the Werra River was reached  the next day. Logan National Cemetery 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd. Denver 80235\, Pavilion B. \nChaplain McFadden was born on January 30\, 1949 in Camden\, NJ and passed on August 4\, 2016 in CO Springs. He served in the US Army from June 5\, 1968-73 and in the US Army Reserve from 73-77 assigned to Ft. Carson as a Mechanical Supply Clerk. He attended Nazarene Bible College and became an ordained Chaplain after completing Chaplain Training at Ft. Monmouth\, NJ in 1981. In 1984 he went back to school and into the Army earning his second degree from Nazarene Bible College graduating in 1987. He served as Volunteer Chaplain at Evans Army Community Hospital on Ft. Carson for 5 years. Following his retirement from the military\, he was employed as a Sales Representative at Red Letter Publishing for 20 years. Chaplain Mac was a member of the Christian Knights\, An American Legion Chaplain\, past Post 209 Commander\, past Post 38 Chaplain\, VFW and TREA member. Cuadra has invited the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to attend the Military Honors of their loved one as he makes his final journey. It will be our honor to do so. \nNorman\, a resident of Corona\, was born in Managua\, Nicaragua on 07 November 1979 and entered into Eternal Rest on 04 August 2016 tragically as a result of a swimming accident in Salinas\, Baja California. \nAfter high school Norman joined the U.S. Marine Corps proudly serving his country during Operation Iraqi Freedom from February 2002 to March 2005. Norman received citation/awards that included Combat Action Ribbon (Iraq)\, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal\, Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal\, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (Iraq)\, Sea Service Deployment Medal\, Presidential Unit Commendation and Certificate of Commendation\, Meritorious Mast. Norman was honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal (LCpl). \nNorman is survived by his wife Corina\, five children\, three sisters and mother\, as well as many other cherished family members and dear friends. \nNOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this Military Veteran. For those interested\, and all are welcome\, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the church to his final resting place. Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
