SUMMARY:Welcome Home
DESCRIPTION:Please note that due to ongoing OPSEC/PERSEC concerns\, mission details are not shown in this posting. All relevant details about the local troops will be given at the mission briefing. \n\nBrothers\, Sisters and Friends of the PGR\, we have received a request from Camp Lejeune to provide a welcome home escort for one of their units returning home on 8-12-2016. It will be our honor and pleasure to welcome these Marines and Sailors back home. \nWe will meet the convoy outside the main gate of MCAS Cherry Point. As we all know there is always the potential for numerous delays and changes in scheduling so please be flexible and understanding if these occur. We will be entering Camp Lejeune Military Reservation as part of this mission\, and all military regulations and requirements will be enforced: long pants and long sleeves\, helmets\, boots\, and full fingered gloves for riders\, **no weapons for anyone.** For those who will be participating please make sure you have a pass to get on base. If you do not have a pass\, please get me your information (DL# & Insurance info. and what you will be driving ) ASAP\, so I have time to get you a pass prior to the mission. \nWe will be staging at the Dunkin Donuts in Havelock\, near the 101 intersection.\n\nFor those going up from the Jacksonville area\, we will meet at the Wendys in Swansboro at 22:00 (10:00 pm) with KSU for Havelock at 22:15 (10:15 pm). Every effort possible is made in planning and executing the PGR Mission statement in a manner that minimizes the inherit dangers of riding a motorcycle\, including riding in groups of all sizes and any situation. While the NCPG\, and it’s riders have a remarkable safety record in the execution of our missions\, infrequently members have been injured in unforeseen accidents. In an effort to mitigate the risk of preventable accidents\, all attendees who wish to ride in a Patriot Guard motorcycle escort or ride are asked to attend the pre-mission briefing. It will include a safety briefing\, and any unique ride information known to our RCIC that may be specific to the mission. Member safety and well-being is always a principal ongoing concern\, our RCIC’s are asked to stand-down from any mission that cannot be accomplished in relative safety or unreasonable risk. This includes both rides and flag lines in inclement weather and conditions. It remains each individual PGR member’s responsibility to ride within their own comfort zone and be cognizant of their surroundings and skill limitations as well as any physical needs or limitations. If the ride and/or mission conditions present challenges beyond your skill\, comfort\, or needs you are expected to exercise good judgment in foregoing any planned participation.

While the PGR and its riders have a remarkable safety record in the execution of our missions\, infrequently members have been injured in unforeseen accidents. In an effort to mitigate the risk of preventable accidents\, all attendees who wish to ride in a Patriot Guard motorcycle escort or Honor Mission are asked to attend the pre-mission briefing. It will include a safety briefing and any unique ride information known to our Ride Captain(s) that may be specific to the mission. Member safety and well- being is always a principal ongoing concern. Our Ride Captains are asked to stand down from any mission that cannot be accomplished in relative safety or unreasonable risk. This includes both rides and flag lines in inclement weather and other conditions. It remains each individual PGR member’s responsibility to ride within their own comfort zone and be cognizant of their surroundings and skill limitations as well as any physical needs or limitations. If the ride and/or mission conditions present challenges beyond your skill\, comfort\, or needs\, you are expected to exercise good judgment in foregoing any planned participation.\n\nPlease monitor weather and dress accordingly. Summer weather is upon us so be sure to stay hydrated!!
