Every effort possible is made in planning and executing the PGR Mission statement in a manner that minimizes the inherit dangers of riding a motorcycle\, including riding in groups of all sizes and any situation. While the NCPG\, and it’s riders have a remarkable safety record in the execution of our missions\, infrequently members have been injured in unforeseen accidents. In an effort to mitigate the risk of preventable accidents\, all attendees who wish to ride in a Patriot Guard motorcycle escort or ride are asked to attend the pre-mission briefing. It will include a safety briefing\, and any unique ride information known to our RCIC that may be specific to the mission. Member safety and well-being is always a principal ongoing concern\, our RCIC’s are asked to stand-down from any mission that cannot be accomplished in relative safety or unreasonable risk. This includes both rides and flag lines in inclement weather and conditions. It remains each individual PGR member’s responsibility to ride within their own comfort zone and be cognizant of their surroundings and skill limitations as well as any physical needs or limitations. If the ride and/or mission conditions present challenges beyond your skill\, comfort\, or needs you are expected to exercise good judgment in foregoing any participation.

SUMMARY:Adolphus David\, USA\, WW II - Korea / Holbrook
DESCRIPTION:Members: \nWe have been requested by the family to stand for Chief Warrant Officer Adolphus “Buck” David Nava\, a U.S. Army WW II Veteran and POW who died while in captivity during the Korean War. After all these years\, his remains have finally been identified and are being returned home. \nWhen/Where:\nThursday\, August 4\, 2016\nHolbrook – Calverton\, NY \nLRC:\nRichard Pinnavaia\nRichpinn@optonline.net\n631-807-5946 \nAbout this Hero:\n\nChief Warrant Officer Adolphus David Nava of New York served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later in the Battery B\, 38th Field Artillery Battalion (105MM)\, 2nd Infantry Division during the Korean War. \nOn November 30\, 1950 CWO Nava was engaged in a battle against Chinese People’s Volunteer Forces (CPVF) in North Korea between the towns of Sinhung-dong and Kunu-Ri. When it became obvious that the unit would be overrun\, the unit made an escape on foot through the nearby mountains. For more than a week U.S. soldiers made their way through enemy controlled territory to get back to their unit but CWO Nava never arrived and he was declared missing in action. \nIt was later found that CWO Nava was taken as a Prisoner of War sometime after November 30\, 1950 and held captive by the North Koreans. The following spring after he was captured\, on May 31\, 1951 Nava died while in captivity. Between 1990 and 1994 North Korea sent numerous remains believed to be American servicemen back to the United States\, held for identification in Hawaii. CWO Nava’s remains were recently identified on June 22\, 2016. \n\n\n
