It will be our honor to do so. \n\nLloyd Smith served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  He entered active duty October 1952 and served until his honorable discharge August 1956.\nHe was awarded the Navy Occupation Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.  In civilian life\, Mr. Smith retired as a chemist from the Canton Textiles Mills. DESCRIPTION:SSG Roderick Summers\, 55\nUSMC/CANG(AD)\nOIF\nCypress\, CA\n01 AUG 16\n\n\nThe family of SSG Roderick Summers\, age 55\, has requested the PGR attend  services for their Hero\, it will be our honor to do so.\n\nSSG Roderick Summers enlisted in the U S Marine Corps in July 1979 and  served 14 years and was honorably discharged in 1993.  In 1996 he  reenlisted in the California Army National Guard (CANG) and was currently  enlisted at the time of his passing\, having served a total of 31 years in the  military.  He was stationed at Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training  Base. \nRoderick was also a federal employee in his civilian life.  He loved  to watch war movies and drink a good beer.  He also loved walking and  riding his bicycle along the beach.  He had also begun reading all kinds of  books about the military.  The military and his family were his life. \nRoderick is survived by his wife Lisa\, his son Roderick Jr \,  daughter-in-law Atsumi\, daughter Chanelle\, and one grandchild Amelia. \nNOTE: This  mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this  American Hero. DESCRIPTION:The family of Melvin Breyfogle have invited  the Patriot Guard Riders to Honor his Life and Service Monday August 1\,  2016.\nVisitation is at 10 am with the  service to begin at 11 am at the First Christian Church\, 205 N. 7th St.  Estherville\, IA. \nMelvin S. Breyfogle\,  born February 10\, 1926\, graduated Alta High School in 1943 and enlisted in the  navy in April 1944. Following boot camp at Great Lakes he attended a service  school for Electricians Mate and shipped out to  Marinas Islands to serve  aboard the destroyer USS Laws until his discharge in June of 1946.  He saw  duty in the South Pacific\, specifically in the Battle of Okinawa.  This  amounted to those small ships lining up and one after another pulling within gun  range of the island to draw fire from the Japanese.  Then they would return  to the end of the line and wait for their turn to come up again. Freeman\, Jr. answered his country’s call to service in 1952.  As an Infantryman he rose to the rank of Sergeant while serving in Korea.  He was the recipient of the Korean Service Medal with Bronze Star and a Presidential Unit Citation. \nHe returned home from honorable military service to marry and raise a family. He was a tool and dye maker at Behr Manning/Norton Company and retired from there after 37 years. \nThe Patriot Guard Riders will be privileged to be there to render Honor\, Dignity and Respect for the life and service of George T. The respectful transfer of the remains of a Civil War Soldier is slated to begin on August 1st in Salem and continue through our North East District to Ontario Oregon and on to Maine for burial with full Military Honors on September 17th. \nJewett Williams moved to Oregon after he served with the 20th Maine in the Civil War.  He died in the early 1900’s in an asylum and was cremated.  Recently his remains were found in the basement of the long ago closed facility and preparations have been on going to return him to Maine. Jewett Williams’ cremains have been removed and placed in a ceramic urn. The original copper vessel and the urn have been bubble-wrapped and placed in a wooden box for safe transport. The dimensions of the box are 14”L x 10”H x 8”D.  This will have to be securely fastened to a rack or in a saddle bag or tour pack of an appropriate size. There will also be a folded flag. \n***You are welcome to join at any of the listed stops and proceed on that leg of the Oregon journey as far as you wish.  Times are estimates only and KSU may adjust if all are ready to go earlier than listed.   Arrive early and ready to roll for the segment that you wish to join. Riders are also welcome to join in at ramps between.  If at a non-listed ramp\, please wait at the bottom of the East Bound Ramp and fall in at the rear of the pack.
