DESCRIPTION:Marvin Nuessle\nUS Army World WWII Veteran\nPurple Heart Recipient\nMember of the Greatest Generation \n\n\n\nThe family of Marvin Nuessle has requested the presence of The Patriot Guard Riders for Services and Military honors. \nMarvin Nuessle was a United States Army Veteran. Marvin tried to join the Army on 19 February\, 1943 but was differed until 24 June 1943 after he turned 18. Marvin was sent to Fort Custer\, Michigan and then on to Camp Kraft\, South Carolina for 3 months and then sent to Fort Sam Houston\, Texas where he joined the 88th Division\, 250 Regiment. On 2 December\, 1943 Marvin was sent to North Africa for one month then to Italy\, his Regiment was the first troops in Rome. Marvin was wounded stepping on a land mine while doing recon behind German lines. Among Marvin’s decorations he received were The Bronze Star\, The Purple Heart and 2 Battle Stars. He was a member of American Legion Post 107 and also the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He retired from Goodyear aerospace Center in 1982. Members of American Legion Post 107 in Phoenix and the Arizona Patriot Guard Riders will miss his great smile. He was a Member of the Greatest Generation\, a gentleman who was kind and courteous to all. He was stationed in Germany and Vietnam. The Patriot Guard Riders will be there to render Honor Dignity and Respect to for another victim of the Vietnam War. From the obituary\, Dennis served in the US Army in Vietnam and became an ordained pastor in 1977. He began his ministry as a youth pastor of Bethel Tabernacle in Mt. Ephraim\, pastor of the Gloucester Assembly of God in Gloucester\, NY\, the Newcomb Assembly of God in Newcomb\, NY\, and the Kitzmiller Assembly of God\, in Kitzmiller\, MD. \nHe became an Episcopal priest in the Diocese of Albany in 1999 and served as a priest for the Adirondack Mission\, as well as a chaplain at Albany Med\, St. Peter’s\, Glens Falls Hospital\, and the Sisters of St. Mary in Greenwich. \nHe loved his family\, sharing God’s Word\, spending time in the Adirondack’s hiking the high peaks with his buddy Joseph Bickford\, and his children. While the PGR and its riders have a remarkable safety record in the execution of our missions\, infrequently members have been injured in unforeseen accidents.  In an effort to mitigate the risk of preventable accidents\, all attendees who wish to ride in a Patriot Guard motorcycle escort or ride are asked to attend the pre-mission briefing.  It will include a safety briefing and any unique ride information known to our RC that may be specific to the mission.  Member safety and well-being is always a principal ongoing concern.  Our RC’s are asked to stand down from any mission that cannot be accomplished in relative safety or unreasonable risk.  This includes both rides and flag lines in inclement weather and conditions.  It remains each individual PGR member’s responsibility to ride within their own comfort zone and be cognizant of their surroundings and skill limitations as well as any physical needs or limitations. He was awarded the Purple Heart for combat injuries he sustained during deployment. \nWhile serving in the National Guard\, Carl also had a 37-year career with AT&T.  He was a Communication Technician maintaining the ESS (Electronic Switching System) offices in the Imperial Valley.  He also served 6 years on the Calexico School Board.  Carl was very involved and provided leadership and support to the following veterans groups:  AMVETS\, Heber Veteran Group\, VFW\, and the American Legion. DESCRIPTION:Confirmed Mission\nWilliam “Billy” Davis\nU.S. Army Veteran – Vietnam\nMilwaukee\, WI\nWednesday July 13\, 2016 \n\n\nWilliam “Billy” Davis left us July 2nd at Zablocki VA Center\, Milwaukee.  Billy was a Crew Chief on a CH-54 and was injured in a recovery mission. Billy was awarded two Vietnam Air Medals.  While Billy has no next of kin that will attend\, he had made arrangements at a private cemetery and we have been invited to attend the burial in the morning and a service at his church in the evening. \nA memorial service is planned for Billy at a small storefront church that he attended later at 7:00 p.m.   \nBilly served us well and has faced difficult times.  Let us not forget him as he is laid to rest. He was willing to give his life to keep us free.
