Neal enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1983\, coming out of Ft. Bliss to serve in Germany then Washington State. Afterwards he became an Army Reservist. He went on to work in the NY State Department of Corrections. Later Neal enlisted in the VT Air National Guard in 2004\, with a tour of duty in Iraq. He became Active Duty with VTANG in 2013. He served in Security Forces.  He is survived by his wife\, Terry Cote\, and two children.  SSgt Senecal will be receiving Full Military Honors. Frederick to stand flag line in honor and respect for his many  years of service to his country. \nDick entered the military in May\,  1969 and served in the Vietnam War from March 1970 to April 1971.   During his military career\, Dick was stationed in Italy\, Hawaii\, and  Georgia.  Dick graduated in April 1979 from the University of South  Dakota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and an ROTC  commission at which time Dick went back on active duty as an officer  until 1983 an then retired as a Major with the South Dakota Army  National Guard after 30 years of service and during that time earned a  Bronze Star medal.   \nThe funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 Friday\, July 8\, 2016 at the  Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell\, SD. \nThere will also be a  visitation on Thursday\, July 7th and only flags will be posted at that  time. \nOn Saturday July 9th Dick will be buried in his home town\,  Watertown\, SD.  The PGR will escort from the funeral home in Watertown  to the Saint Mary’s Cemetery\, also in Watertown. After his Army service he served as an Emergency Medical Technician for the Cambridge community and enlisted in the United States National Guard where he served as a Supply Sargent for 20 years. After boot camp he went through paratrooper training and was assigned to the 3rd Parachute Battalion on Bouganville Island. He was then returned stateside and assigned to G Company\, 3rd Battalion\, 28th Marine Regiment\, Fifth Marine Division. After further training at Camp Tarawa\, HI\, the Fifth Division invaded Iwo Jima on 19 February 1945\, Jim was wounded within 10 minutes of the invasion. He was evacuated and after treatment for his wounds was discharged 23 August 1945\, having received the Purple Heart for his injuries. \nAlthough he was in the Marine Corps for only two years and five months\, his service as a Marine and particularly his participation in the battle at Iwo Jima was the defining time in his life. DESCRIPTION:The Patriot Guard has been requested by the family of Gilbert Allen to provide an escort in honor of his service to this Great Nation. \nGilbert “Gib” proudly served with the US Army during the Korean War. He served in the 7th Cavalry Regiment during the war. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with three bronze campaign stars\, two Bronze Stars with oak leaf cluster for valor\, and the Purple Heart with two oak leaf clusters. On November 10\, 1951\, near San’ gol\, Korea he received one of the Bronze Stars and the two Purple Hearts for his heroism in action against an armed enemy. Sergeant Allen’s patrol was ambushed. Without regard for his personal safety\, he circulated among his wounded comrades\, fearlessly exposing himself in order to administer first aid to the wounded. He was exposed to an intense volume of automatic weapons fire\, grenades\, and small arms fire. in addition\, Sergeant Allen emerged carrying a wounded comrade in spite of his own wounds. He undoubtedly saved the lives of many casualties. His heroism reflected great credit on himself and the military service. He was Grand Marshall of the Quincy Veteran’s Day Parade in 2013. He went on the Honor Flight in 2015. He was Past President of the Emergency Corp. First and foremost Scott loved his best friend Mike O’Malley. Scott didn’t stay in one place very long\, there was something out there he wanted\, it was unknown\, but he was searching for it. Scott strongly believed in the First Amendment. He was a mechanic and artist\, to most he was known as “DOC”. Scott had a natural ability to protect and a better instinct to heal. And a really good friend to have at 2 a.m. in the morning if you needed him. Scott joined the US Army and enlisted as a medic and deployed for Iraq in 06 and 07 as a combat medic with the 10th Mountain 287th division with two tours of Duty in operation Enduring Iraqi Freedom. Sergeant Scott A Farr came home with a few coins and ribbons. He loved the Armed Forces\, riding his Harley and was an accomplished tattoo artist. Scott suffered from PTSD for many years and Sam\, his canine friend\, was a good tool to make him feel like himself again. Scott leaves behind three kids\, mother\, father\, one sister and five brothers. \nThe Patriot Guard Riders will be there to render Honor\, Dignity\, and Respect.

Mr. Barrett received the Purple Heart for injuries occurring in France during the Central Europe Campaign. He was shot in the leg\, fracturing his femur by German machine gun fire. He and 2 others were on a scouting mission when they came under attack. He managed to roll into a culvert for protection\, with continuous gun fire all around him by German forces. When the medic reached him\, Mr. Barrett tried to convince the medic to stay down. But the medic refused and the moment he stood up\, was shot in the head and fell right on top of him. Mr. Barrett had no choice but to use the medic as cover until Air Force troops dropped bombs to secure the area. \nMr. Barrett was Honorably Discharged on 10 September 1947 with the rank of Corporal.
