Wreaths Across America
Lincoln, Nebraska – 12-09-19

Nebraska PGR supports the Wreaths Across America  Statehouse Ceremony in Lincoln, as we gather to honor our American Heroes Remember – Honor – and Teach Remember the fallen;Honor those who serve;Teach our children the value of freedom. The Wreaths Across America story began over 26 years ago when the Worchester Wreath Company began a tradition of placing wreaths on the headstones of our Nation’s fallen heroes at Arlington National Cemetery during the holidays. The Patriot Guard Riders have again been invited to participate in this important event honoring our Military Heroes. Each year since 2006, more and more communities have been participating in wreath-laying Statehouse ceremonies conducted on the Monday before the year’s official Wreaths Across America™ day. This year’s Nebraska Statehouse ceremony will be held on 9 Dec 2019, as a prelude to the national Wreaths Across America day scheduled for 14 Dec 2019. The Statehouse ceremony promotes a week-long celebration of America’s veterans and their service to our Country, with a focus on family during the holidays. At locations nationwide, Civil Air Patrol, veterans groups, funeral service practitioners and others who embrace the Wreaths Across America™ mission to, “Remember the Fallen; Honor Those Who Serve, And Teach The Children The Cost of Freedom,” will, in fact remember and honor our veterans during the holiday season, the traditional time of family get-togethers and gratitude. Riders are invited to gather and support the Nebraska WAA Statehouse Ceremony this year as outlined below. The Nebraska Wreath Laying Ceremony will be synchronized to mirror all ceremonies taking place at 12:00 Noon EST. Dignitaries are planned to speak in honor of our veterans and active military. The wreath-laying ceremony is apolitical and all groups are invited to attend.
