AFTER ACTION REPORT: PFC Winford Adams, US Army Veteran, Kellyville, OK
Wednesday, 19 June 2019 was a very pleasant, partly cloudy day. The PGR staged and briefed at Traditions Funeral Services Chapel, Kellyville, to flags that had been posted across the front of the chapel. Following the briefing a prayer was given. The front doors were manned and the PGR stood a Flag Line as family and friends began to arrive. When the service began all flags were left in place and retrieved at a later time. As PFC Adams was moved from the chapel to the coach a Respect Line was formed. The accompaniment to Kellyville City Cemetery was completed safely with the assistance of the Kellyville Police Department. On arrival at the cemetery the coach was met by several PGR who had posted flags at the interment site. The PGR formed a Respect Line as PFC Adams was moved from the coach to his final resting place. American Legion Honor Guard then fired a three round rifle volley, played Taps, folded and presented the flag to Mr. Adams daughter. The pastor presented a short service and then the PGR came forward, thanked the family and presented the PGR plaque and Invocation Letter to the daughter. A Final Salute was given and participated in by all in attendance to PFC Winford Adams. The service was then closed. After an appropriate amount of time the posted flags at the cemetery and funeral chapel were retrieved and prepared for the next mission.
Thank you, to the Adams family for inviting the PGR to be a part of this service to Honor this Hero. Thank you to the Kellyville Police Depart for their assistance. Thank you to the 14 PGR riders, including one “First Time” rider that took time to “Stand and Honor” this hero.
“Rest in Peace” PFC Winford Adams, US Army Veteran, your mission is complete, you are gone, but your service to this Great Nation will never be forgotten.
Respectfully submitted:
Mike “Penni” Pennington
