ABOUT THE MISSION:
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have been invited to stand for Willis Patrick Tipton, age 75. Willis served in the United States Marine Corps from 7 March 1961 to 14 January 1977 as a 6062 Aircraft Safety Equipment Mechanic. His last unit being VMA (AW) 224. He then joined the US Army Reserves from 25 March 1978 to 14 February 2004 as an 11B Infantryman. After his many years of Service he was Retired at the rank of Sergeant Major (E9). Willis earned the Silver Star medal, the Bronze Star w/Valor, the Purple Heart Medal w/ 3 stars, the good Conduct medal with 3 knots, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal w/2 silver service stars, the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon w/3 device, the Army Service Ribbon, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Presidential Unit Commendation, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Achievement Medal, the Army Reserve Achievement Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, a Navy Parachutist Badge, the Meritorious Unit Citation w/3 silver stars, the Navy Master-Gold Jump Wings, the Navy Achievement medal w/Valor, the Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, the M-16 Rifle Expert Badge, and the 45 Caliber Pistol Marksman Badge. Please join us as we pay our respects and honor his service to our nation.
