ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Patriot Guard Riders have the privilege of standing for USAF Korean War veteran Staff Sergeant William Sibley “Bill” Sikes, Jr. as he once stood honorably for us.
SSgt Sikes passed away at 87 years of age. During SSgt Sikes served five years with the US Air Force as a Bombing Navigation Systems Mechanic including one year in Korea during the conflict. During his time in the USAF, SSgt Sikes was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal, among other recognitions.
SSgt. Sikes is survived by two children, two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Special Instructions:
We will brief at 10:15 am and stand a flag line from 10:30 until 11:00 am.
After the service, we will accompany this hero and attendees to his final resting spot with a rolling honor guard. We will then stand a flag line for the graveside service with military honors.
Coronavirus precaution disclosure:
Please bring a mask and wash hands often, be prepared to follow the guidelines from state and local officials as well as facility or cemetery guidelines to be outlined at the mission briefing. A general record of attendees will be held by the ride captain for a period not to exceed 2 weeks in the case of the need for contact tracing. If you test positive for COVID-19 within 10 days of attending a mission please contact Ride Captain with that information, your name will NOT be disclosed.
Those who are sick, have a household member or other close contact who is sick should not attend and those who have a higher risk of severe illness should weigh the benefits of in-person attendance against the risk of exposure to a person with COVID-19, especially if recommendations for wearing masks and social distancing may be difficult to follow for themselves or others.
