ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of William Pittman, 79, US Army Vietnam, of Dunlap, TN has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor their loved one with a flagline and escort to his final place of rest. It WILL be our honor to do so. Mr. Pittman served his country during the Vietnam War as a helicopter pilot. One of his most memorable missions was flying into heavy enemy territory carrying more troops on 3 different occasions to where his helicopter was hit more than 180 times, and no one was killed. For this he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was awarded 2 Bronze Stars and other medals during his time in the service. Mr. Pittman stood for us and now it is our time to stand for him.
