Canton, Georgia – 10-21-19
ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of SP4 William J Torella III have requested us to stand a flag line to honor their loved ones life and service to our country. We have humbly accepted.
William, who was known as Bill to his friends and family, was a veteran of the United States Army, served as a Light Vehicle Driver from 1962 – 1965. During his military service, Bill was stationed at Fort Drum, NY,. Following his military service, Bill worked as a professional truck driver and was a proud member of the Teamsters. It was in Carthage, NY where he and his wife raised their three daughters on a 300-acre farm. They were also the owners of Torella’s Pizzeria, which was located in downtown Carthage. In retirement, Bill worked part-time at the Cobb Antique Mall, and was a member of the ROMEO and Cadillac car clubs, where he met many of his closest friends. An avid reader, a lover of doo-wop music, and a classic car enthusiast. Known for his intellect and charm, Bill was an amazing conversationalist and touched so many people during his 75 years.
SP4 “Bill” Torella III stood on the wall during the Cold War for us, now we will stand for him.
