William Jefferson Howse, Jr. Comment

  1. Mission Complete: 5 June 2019 – Lt. Col. William Jefferson Howse Jr., USAAC WWII Veteran, USAF Retired, Maysville, OK.

On Wednesday, 5 June 2019, there were 2 Patriot Guard Riders in 1 cage who attended the mission to Honor the Military Service of Lt. Col. William Jefferson Howse Jr., USAAC WWII Veteran, USAF (Ret) during the Visitation this evening at Winans Funeral Home Chapel in Maysville, OK.

The briefing was held, followed by a moment of silence for the Blue Star, Silver Star & Gold Star families, POWs and MIAs. A prayer asking comfort for the grieving family, a safe mission and protection for our military personnel engaged in the Global War on Terror was also said.

The PGR handheld the U.S. Flag and the USAF Service Flag and manned the doors as family and friends arrived for the Visitation.

When the family gathered in the Chapel, the PGR members returned the flags to the flag vehicle before entering the chapel after an introduction by the Funeral Director to the gathered family and friends, whereupon we read and presented PGR Plaques, Framed Invocations and the Condolence envelope to the Heroes’ children, and thanked the family for inviting the PGR to attend the Visitation for their Hero.

Thank you to RC Dennis Denson for joining me in honoring the Hero and his family, who expressed their appreciation of our presence at the Visitation. However slight in number, our presence to show honor and respect made a difference to this family.

Most of all, thank you Col. Howse, for your service to this Great Nation. Rest in Peace Sir. You will not be forgotten.

    Respectfully,
    RCIC Ray “rayneman” Gehrig
