ABOUT THE MISSION:
PFC William Hoover Jones, 18, US Army, Korean War MIA/KIA, from Nash County, NC, was declared dead on 31 Dec 1953. He was assigned to Company E, 2nd Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was listed as MIA after engaging enemy forces in North Korea on 26 Nov 1950 and he could not be found when his unit made a fighting withdrawal. After his death, he was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. PFC William H. Jones, is to be interred on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery on 22 August 2019, at approximately 9:00 AM, from the JBMHH Old Post Chapel. PGR has been invited to attend the services by his family and we will be there to stand tall, silent and proud in honor of this US Army Korean War KIA/MIA and Combat Veteran, his family, friends and comrades at arms.
