ABOUT THE MISSION:
Patriots, we have been requested to escort PVT William Hoover Jones to Arlington National Cemetery where he can finally be laid to eternal rest. PVT Jones has been Missing in Action since November 25, 1950. His unit, Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 24th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division, 8th U.S. Army was in the area of Ryongyeon-ri for The Battle of Chongchon River, where General Douglas MacArthur was attempting to end the war by pushing north on the last North Korean stronghold near the Yalu River. Overrun by an estimated force of 30,000 Chinese and Korean Troops in a surprise attack, his unit was cutoff and only a few were able to be evacuated. PFC Jones died exactly one month before his 19th birthday. His remains were recently returned to the US and quickly identified. He has been returned home to his family 69 years after being declared Missing and Killed in Action.
