William Gottfried (Bill) to stand a flag line for his final military honors. Bill was an Infantryman in the Army from July\, 1968 to July\, 1970. He served in Vietnam and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal\, Vietnam Service Medal\, Vietnam Campaign Medal\, the Combat Infantry Badge and the Sharpshooter – Rifle badge. Pfc Gottfried didn’t talk about his service often\, but when he did share stories they were always funny and made his partner laugh. According to her\, they had a lot of laughter in their lives. As a civilian Bill worked for the railroad\, US Forestry Service\, was a design engineer for Boeing and was a Farmer too! He liked to experience life.
