Mission Complete: 14 August 2019 – SF3 William F. “Bill” Freeman Jr., USN WWII Veteran, Maysville, OK.

On Wednesday, 14 August 2019 there were 6 Riders on 5 bikes and 1 cage who attended the mission to Honor the Military Service of USN WWII Veteran SF3 William F. “Bill” Freeman Jr. at the First United Methodist Church in Maysville.
The area surrounding the church was staked, and the American Flag flew proudly in the light wind as family and friends arrived.

The briefing was held, followed by a moment of silence for the Blue, Silver & Gold Star families, POWs and MIAs. A prayer asking comfort for the grieving family, a safe mission and protection for our military personnel engaged in the Global War on Terror was also said.

Riders stood the Flag Line, standing on both sides of the entry door, and manned the doors as family and friends arrived for the service. When the service started, PGR members returned the flags to the flag vehicle.

At the conclusion of the service, Riders stood a Respect Line as the Hero was moved from the chapel to the coach. Riders accompanied the Hero, family and friends to the Antioch Cemetery, which had been staked and flagged prior to the arrival of the procession, and stood another Respect Line as the Hero was moved from the coach to the grave site by pall bearers consisting of family and friends of the Hero.

The USN Honors Team played Taps, then folded and presented the flag to the Mrs. Freeman. PGR Members read and presented the Plaque and the Invocation to Mrs. Freeman, and thanked the family for allowing us to participate in Mr. Freeman’s services. The Minister closed the service out with his remarks and a short prayer.

Thank you to each of my fellow Riders for attending this mission, which was greatly enhanced by your attendance, which also made a difference to this family.

Most of all, thank you SF3 Freeman, for your service to this great nation. Rest in Peace Sir, your mission is complete, and you will not be forgotten.

Respectfully,
RCIC Ray “rayneman” Gehrig
It’s not about us. It’s about Honor, Dignity and Respect.
