The family of US Navy WWII Pilot William Charles “Bill” Alexander has requested the PATRIOT GUARD RIDERS help honor and pay tribute to him for his dedicated service to our country.
Bill served in the US Navy as a pilot, flying reconnaissance missions for the naval patrol frigate, USS Annapolis. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he retired after a 30 year career as an aeronautical engineer with the Goodyear Aerospace Corporation. At Goodyear, Bill was a member of the design team which created the parachute for the first space shuttle and he worked to develop a patent for the bearings of the landing gear for the shuttle.
Sadly, Bill passed away on 1 July 2016, his 95th birthday.
PRIMARY STAGING: Tuesday 5 July 2016 at 8:30 AM at BALDWIN-LEE FUNERAL HOME; 3780 US-80; Pearl, MS 39208, the PGR will provide a silent US Flag line until the beginning of the funeral service at 11:00 AM.
ESCORT: Immediately following the funeral service the PGR will escort Mr. Alexander to FLORAL HILLS MEMORY GARDEN in Pearl and provide a silent US Flag line for the graveside service.
NOTE: This will be a very short escort, please join us as we STAND FOR ONE WHO STOOD FOR US !
